National Highway Authority has appointed A.A. Associates to plan and design additional carriageway between Chablat Nowshera 70.45 km sections of National Highway N-5. The project involves construction of Additional carriageway between Chablat Nowshera - 70.454 km section of National Highway N-5. Additional Carriageway being Constructed is two lane (7.30 wide) with 3 m wide outer shoulders and 1.00 mm inner shoulders. The pavement structure consist of 50 mm wearing course, 220 mm Asphaltic base course, 220 mm Asphaltic base course, and 190 m aggregate base course. 2 m width of outer shoulder and 0.5 m width of inner shoulder are surface treated. The project also include construction of a major bridge over River Indus at Khairabad with a length of 701 m, 6 spans of 39+40+111+200+200+111 m and width of 10.85 m. 200 m long spans of the bridge are the longest span ever designed and constructed in Pakistan by Pakistani firms. The other major bridge is road rail over pass bridge at Burhan. Beside there are 32 minor bridges, and 129 culverts and other structures. The cost of construction of the Project is estimated to be $ 30.478 and in funded by GOP. The project has been designed by A. A. Associates.

The services provided include Planning, designing, feasibility study, PC-I and tender documents. Construction management and administration including construction supervision of the works, quality control, certification for payments, issuance of completion certificates, assisting client for land acquisition, utilities relocation and coordination with government agencies.
