Existing karrkuram Highway generally referred as KKH about 810 km long, takes off from N-5 at Hassanabdal in Punjab and passing through NWFP and Northern Areas terminates at Khunjrab pass in Karakuram range at Pak-China border. Havalian-Mansehra section of KKH is about 50 Km long passes through Abbottabad city.

The aforementioned assignment can be divided into two stages (i) Feasibility Study (ii) Detailed Design. Stage (i) includes Alignment study, Topographic Survey, Traffic Counts / Surveys, Identification of Problematic Areas and Preparation of Detailed feasibility Study Report, while stage (ii) comprises of Detailed Geometric Design and design for improvement of intersections, Detailed Soil and Material Investigation for pavement design, Pavement structural design, Hydrology study, Design of new structures/ Bridges, retaining and protection works etc., Detailed Report, Material survey and machinery report, Highway Safety audit, Road Furniture design, Preparation of PC-I, Preparation of cost estimates and tender documents, preparation of tender drawings, land acquisition and utility infrastructure folder, Preparation of CPM chart for proposed project duration.
